How to make a Lungo Coffee? [EASY STEPS]

Lungo coffee is a popular Italian beverage that comprises one or a half espresso shot. While making this type of beverage, involves a maximum extraction process and that long process, the flavor and taste feature a bit bitter. The long-brewing process also makes the coffee layer thinner. So, if you are fan of a strong, healthy coffee, try another styled beverage.

However, if you still like Lungo coffee, you can make it at home without any fuss. But before you make one for yourself, you would require a grinder and an espresso machine.

Steps towards Lungo coffee

1. Grind the beans

People may recommend whatever beans they like to grind. But you can grind whatever beans you like, there is no exception in selecting beans. While grinding beans, you have to look for coarseness. And this is the only exception.

2. Settle the ground beans

You would require to gently tap the filter so that the ground you produced get settled. The benefit of settling the ground is that it would evenly distribute the water during the brewing process.

3. Brew the coffee

The final stage lies in the brewing process. All you need to do is to brew the coffee. Just press the brew button. If your machine has a double brew button, that would make the process easy. But don’t worry if it doesn’t have it. you would just keep eye on the time. Just watch, you would feel a slightly changed flavor in 40 seconds. And get it to stop as soon as you experience the best timing and flavor in the beverage.

What makes Lungo coffee different from espresso, and others?

1. Volume of water

In normal drink other than Lungo, we tend to use about 30 milliliters of water. On the other, we use a slightly higher amount of water for Lungo. Around 50 milliliters would be required for Lungo coffee.

2. Flavor

The espresso flavor is a bit like dark chocolate while the Lungo taste is bitter. To minimize the bitterness, you would need to continue the brewing process longer.

Conclusion

As we know, Lungo is a popular beverage, especially the Italian. It is quite famous. It consists of one or more espresso shot to make a great Lungo coffee. To make one, you would require to follow the above steps. Those steps will lead you toward a great Lungo coffee at home.
